These birds are considered a dual-purpose breed, valued for both egg production and meat use. Hens generally weigh around 6½ pounds, while roosters reach about 8½ pounds, with pullets and cockerels slightly smaller. They have clean legs and the classic rose comb that Wyandottes are known for. Blue Laced Red Wyandottes are well known for their calm and friendly temperament, making them a good choice for backyard flocks and families.
